Soon Alberta will implement the most comprehensive distracted driving legislation in Canada and it comes
into effect on September 1st. The law will give our enforcement agencies an additional tool to help make
our roads safer. The province plans to run an education awareness campaign to prepare the public for the
new law. Its implementation follows two years after the "no hand-held" cell phone use bylaw now enforced
in Strathcona County.
